This beautiful 1966 BMW R50/2 was brought to us by Georgia Anne who wanted to get it back on the road in original condition after 20 years of storage. Georgia put some miles on this bike back in the day as well as kept it decently stored making this total refurb an exciting project to take on getting Georgia back on the road for another chapter of memories.
We did a complete refurb on the R50/2 checking every system throughly and either refurbishing where permitted or replacing any bad parts. Luckily replacing original parts on bikes like these is minimal due to the quality they were manufactured at and we were able to send this out the door with about 80% original parts. New brakes, wheel bearings, re spoked wheels and complete engine rebuild to name a few things we did to the bike. The paint on the frame is the same coat it left the factory with but we did have to re paint the tank and fenders due to some aftermarket modification done at some point in its life. Seeing this bikes like this back on the road in near off the lot condition is something we strive for. With that said we are very happy with the end result and hopefully Georgia Anne is too.
